Greggs launches new shop format: Bitesize Greggs
We have opened our first ‘Bitesize Greggs’ shop, a smaller shop format enabling us to offer a range iconic products to more customers in high-footfall, prime locations which are constrained by space.
Our first Bitesize shop opened in Sevenoaks Railway Station, which has created 10 new jobs for the local area and is open seven days a week.
Operating with a smaller footprint, Bitesize Greggs offers a tailored range of best-selling customer favourites for the same great quality and great prices, from Sausage Rolls and Steak Bakes to Sweet Treats and Fairtrade hot drinks.
We will open a small number of ‘Bitesize Greggs’ initially, to assess consumer behaviour and operational efficiencies in the new fit outs. The more agile shop format will enable us to enter more prime locations – mostly travel hubs - many of which were previously out of reach due to the size needed for traditional Greggs shop formats.
These ‘Bitesize Greggs’ will be rolled out alongside more traditional, larger Greggs shops – which we are averaging four new openings per week this year - in line with our growth plans and in response to continued strong consumer demand.
After Sevenoaks, the next Bitesize Greggs shop will open in December in Dartford Station, Kent and Cheshire Oaks, with additional openings to follow.
