Celebrating the progress made against our Greggs Pledge targets and setting new commitments to 2030
We have published the latest edition of our sustainability report, The Greggs Pledge, which reflects on the significant progress made against our targets since 2021 and sets out our evolved commitments through to 2030.
Aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, The Greggs Pledge sets out our approach to responsible business across three pillars: Building Stronger, Healthier Communities; Making Our Planet Safer; and Becoming a Better Business.
Some of the key milestones we have achieved in 2025 include:
• Supporting more than 1,000 Breakfast Clubs, feeding over 79,500 children every school day, and opening 45 Outlet shops providing affordable food in areas where it is needed most.
• Cutting food waste by 40% against our 2018 baseline and increasing the amount of surplus food redistributed to 45%.
• Opening our second Eco-Shop and ensuring 100% of own-brand packaging is recyclable, with the exception of hot drink cups.
• Improving farm animal welfare by establishing our supply chain as one of the UK’s top four companies in the Business Benchmark on Farm Animal Welfare.
Moving forward, we remain committed to doing good and have revised our original ten commitments into a smaller number of priorities where we can have the greatest impact.
New commitments include partnering with Nesta to explore the right metrics for understanding the healthiness of our sales over time, committing to maintaining pace on our Scope 2 emission reductions and seeking to further improve our animal welfare practices.
