Fairtrade Fortnight 2025
At Greggs we’re proud to ‘Do It Fair’ as partners of Fairtrade.
Fairtrade works in partnership with almost two million farmers and workers internationally to move towards their vision of a world in which all producers enjoy secure and sustainable livelihoods.
Through commitment to both fair pricing and upholding fair production practices, Fairtrade are supporting their producer organisations to improve living standards, invest communities and protect the environment.
In 2024, through sales of Greggs Fairtrade products, we generated over £1,500,000 in Fairtrade Premium. Fairtrade Premium is an additional sum of money producer organisations earn, on top of the Fairtrade minimum price, that allows them to invest back into their community or business opportunities of their choice. We're delighted that across our 19-year partnership, farmers in the Greggs Fairtrade supply chain have earned over £10.8 million in Fairtrade Premium.
Our Fairtrade product range includes all our coffees, whether hot, or over ice, teas (English Breakfast, Green and Peppermint), our hot chocolates, fruit juices, sugar sachets, syrups and our chocolatey sweet treats!
Last year, our Fairtrade coffee alone generated over £1 million in Premium for our coffee supply chain, made up of over 100,000 farmers in 53 small-scale producer organisations, across 6 countries worldwide!
We know there is still more work to be done for fairer pay, fairer treatment and fairer futures in our food industry. So, we encourage you to continue to ‘Do It Fair’ this Fairtrade Fortnight, 22nd September - 5th October, – when enjoying your great-value Greggs favourites.
At Greggs, we’re committed to ethical, sustainable procurement and we’re proud to have been supporting farmers and communities by offering Fairtrade choices for the last 19 years.” Malcolm Copland, Greggs Commercial Director.
“In our community, the construction of our school funded by the Fairtrade Premium fills us with pride. We are dedicated to completing this project and continuing to supply high-quality coffee beans. Let’s empower future generations to thrive and learn here.” Jose Amado Torres, Coffee Farmer at ASOSEYNEKUM co-operative.
