Now three-years into our five-year sustainability plan, doing good remains at the heart of our business. The progress we have made against targets in 2023 demonstrate our continued commitment to achieving our goals by the end of 2025.

The Greggs Pledge was launched in 2021 to consolidate our goals and help us make a positive impact on the communities we operate in. Our commitments are focused on: building stronger, healthier communities, making the planet safer, and being a better business.

We are delighted to report that in 2023 we achieved another strong year of progress against the targets set out in our Pledge. Some of the significant achievements we have made include:

  • Reaching 896 Greggs Foundation Breakfast Clubs, which feed over 62,000 children every school day

  • Opening our 35th Outlet shop and donating almost £650,000 of profits from our Greggs Outlet shops profits to the Greggs Foundation Community Grant programme to be distributed to communities in need

  • Maintaining over 30% of our product range as ‘Healthier Choice’ items

  • After opening our Eco-Shop in 2022, now over 500 of our shops (21% of the estate) feature Eco-Shop elements

  • Ensuring that 97.1% of electricity usage across all our operations came from renewable sources

  • Publishing our first Ethnicity Pay Gap Report

We have set out a clear plan for next steps, and what we need to achieve in 2024 to continue momentum in achieving our goals and remain on track to reach our targets by the end of 2025.

You can read the latest edition of The Greggs Pledge below, which includes a full list of our commitments:
